Sydney Photographic Workshops offers a night photography course in the vibrant city of Sydney, NSW, Australia. This course takes place on various Thursday or Friday nights from 6pm to 9pm during non-daylight saving time and from 7pm to 10pm during daylight saving time.

The course begins with a harbor-side briefing and introduction from a professional photographer as the city lights come on and the city comes alive. Participants will explore the bright lights of the amazing Sydney Harbour and its surrounds, including the moving ferry lights, neon lights of the central business district, and the moody and character-filled streets of The Rocks.

The course covers various topics, including shooting neon signs and fireworks, night landscapes, night portraits, long exposure techniques, using movement, equipment, safety, camera care and security, working with available light, manual exposure, composition, working with abstracts, thinking outside the square, white balance techniques, and creative light painting techniques.

This course is suitable for both beginners and amateurs using a Digital SLR or Mirrorless camera with manual capability. Participants will need to bring their camera(s), a sturdy tripod, a selection of lenses, a torch, lens hood, blank formatted memory card(s), fully charged camera battery and spare, their cameras manual(s), and dress casual and comfortable with sensible shoes.
